Oh well.. I'm totally strange..it's now confirmed. I'm craving rubber...seriously! I want to chew on rubber all the time. I bought a hot water bottle just to chew on it. I went to a friends party for her daughter's second birthday and made Maya steal a balloon so I could chew on it! Then I felt guilty and told my friend I was a seriel balloon theif! She forgave me..phew. I also keep wanting to smell bleach too. And laundry detergent...the awful chemical persil type stuff. Usually I can't stand the chemical smell of it and prefer something like ecover. But I want out and out chemicals right now!
This pregnancy has been strange. I haven't craved any strange food..though last time I loved parmesan..this time I can't touch the stuff. I also hate fruit this time, and last time I was hooked on apples. With all of them I have craved chicken and potatos...
but rubber! That's just out there with coal!

hmmm, you abhor fruit,you want to chew rubber, and you like sniffing petrochemicals...you go off on one in supermarkets...aha, you must be....THEO...or alternatively theo must be awash with pregnancy hormones...

Fiona Theo has exquisite taste! When I was Theo's age I abhorred fruit and loved the whiff of petrolchemicals and often chewd my hot water bottle. So..I'm probably revisiting my youth in this pregnancy.
Jayne.. is this baby of yours going to be the first of yours to come early? Either way..lots of braxtons is good..I've had a few..hoping they are doing some work!
Oh wow, I thought I was the only person this had happened to! When I was pregnant with my third I craved the smell of rubber. I bought a hot water bottle and deliberately filled it too hot, then would sit there and sniff it. And yes, I had a bit of a chew on it too! I now have a latex allergy though so dunno what I would do if I was ever pregnant again and craving rubber. I'm pretty sure it was a comfort thing though, the smell of perished hot water bottles reminds me of my childhood.
ooh yes hot water bottles remind me of childhood too. I read through alot of weird pregnancy cravings and rubber was definitely a rare one! Which is weird because I know lots of people (non pregnant people) who love the smell of hot water bottles.
