Random stuff

  • It's very quiet online today..none of the groups I'm on are posting! Did everyone go out and forget to tell me? wahhhh

  • Quela is having a vocab explosion.. Just now she saw a kite on the TV and said " Ooh look, it's flying in the sky like a planet" Her use of the word "no" is increasing..in fact it's "no" to everything. She does have a funny little quirk. At some point she must have asked me what I was doing or something and I must have replied "oh nothing just......" because now if you ask her ANY question, her answer is preceeded by "nothing..." So You ask her "what colour is that pencil?" and she answers "nothing..it's blue". This little quirk sometimes makes her sound really mischeivious. I will say "Quela what are you doing?" and she answers "Nothing, ..............................I'm drawing on the wall" LOL
  • Our organic food box has done well this week. I made leek, kale and chicken pie with mash the other day. The pie was enough for two dinners, and was delicious. Then I made a spicy kale and lentil soup which was really good too. Last night it was just me and Quela eating so we had a pasta with a delicious sauce full of organic veg...she had 2 bowls full so that was a thumbs up. Tonight we are making our special curry..we have it once a week and more sometimes because it is really good...so some of the veg is going in that. And tomorrow we are having the cauli for lunch..can't wait to try that and then we are using up the beets, potatoes, cabbage, carrots for dinner. Probably have a chicken salad with a home made coleslaw, maybe a hot millet salad and some potato salad. I'm off to order next weeks box..there is a butternut squash in the next box..so thinking of things to do with that. Just hungry thinking about it! Oh and the fruit box has gone down very well with Quela. The bananas are really tasty..and the pears are just the right size for her little hands. Next weeks box has kiwis..she loves them!
  • No mention of Maya recently because she is away for the week.."hi Maya xxx"

we love butternut squash, jayne and i. you just wash it thoroughly and cut it in half lengthways, scoop out seedy stuff, then roast it cut side down with some oil in quite a hot oven till it's soft ( err 45 mins no idea of how long )then you scoop it out and can use in salad, soup, quiche, with pasta .nice with lots of green stuff like parsley. love, fiona ps it is a BUGGER to peel hence the above method taught to me by superwoman jayne
